About
Carson performance horses was founded by Austin and Callie Carson who grew up competing and riding in various equine avenues. Our brand was established by merging both our family brands into one. We took one heart from the Double Heart Ranch and one "C" from the C/C Carson brand to form our Heart bar "C" that represents the deep roots and pride we have in the western lifestyle. As our family grew we start transitioning into breeding cutting horses and other western performance equine bloodlines. With this expansion we decided to start offering more horses to the public from weanlings all the way to experienced show horses.

Double Heart Ranch
The Double Heart Ranch was established 1929 in Nolan County, TX. What started as a sheep operation in a one bed room shack quickly grew to hosting the first night time rodeo in Texas. The Double Heart was known for its home raised livestock and great atmosphere. The rodeos were short lived as the ranch experienced setbacks starting with a tornado wiping out the stands and the beginning of the war. During this pivotal time in history the Ranch became a Calvary training station for the Army. After the dust settled, it returned its focus to being a family cattle ranch and deer lease operation, where the western heritage pride still stands strong in the Hearts of the remaining family members.

The Carson Legacy
The Carson ranch in Texas began with two families moving to Olton, Texas in 1927 where they purchased 200 acres which consisted of ranch and farm land. As their families grew so did their acreage. In 1935 they expanded to Motley County where the family managed a 4 section cattle ranch and farm land. The next generation consisted of 5 boys and 3 girls who continued to carry on the family ranch and expanded their reach to more ranches in Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico. They managed various breeds of cattle, sheep, and raised exceptional horses to carry out the daily ranching duties. To this day, the ranch in Motley county has stayed strong where 4 generations of family come together to enjoy working cows and soaking up the western lifestyle still alive today.
